Pre-Lab Notes

Once accepted into a Lab, there are certain things you
need to know before arriving in the actual workspace.
Please read the following carefully:

1) PRE-LAB TIME
If possible, set apart about one hour before you arrive to feed yourself, to rest and to be alone. This paratheatre work accesses energy sources in the body and if you arrive already drained or tired, you may not be able to do any work of much value.

2) LOCATION and PUNCTUALITY
We meet in "The Meeting Room" in the Finnish Brotherhood Hall, 1970 Chestnut (near University Ave) in Berkeley (4 blocks from North Berkeley BART). Punctuality is expected. Each session starts at 8pm sharp. The doors open 7:45pm. At 8:10pm, the doors are locked with no further entry; no exceptions. One missed session per 7-week Lab is allowed. Please do not show up after two misses.

3) THE ASOCIAL ELEMENT
An asocial climate supports effective work in this medium. You are asked to minimize (or eliminate) socializing and talking when you arrive and enter the work space itself. After each session, it's fine to socialize. If you have any questions about this asocial element, feel free to contact me.

4) WHAT TO BRING; NO PERSONAL SCENTS OR JEWELRY
You will need a bottle of drinking water or tea for your hydration during this work. Wear or bring clothes you can move freely in and that are free of corporate logos and other cultural symbols. Please do not bring or wear loose jewelry. Do not apply any perfume or cologne before entering the workspace.

5) JOGGING and the 5-PHASE WARM-UP CYCLE
Jogging is applied in each session to raise body heat and cardio rate, as well as, to act as a vehicle for accessing energy sources. If you have any physical injuries that either limit or stop you from jogging, you need to withdraw from this work until your injuries heal. A 5-phase physical warm-up cycle starts each 3-hour session. Click this for details on the warm-up cycle.

6) LAB FEE
The lab fee is due the first night of each Lab. Cash preferred; contact me if you need to write a check or be given a receipt. Lab fees pay for space rental and training. Rates vary for newbies and vets, depending on training required and Lab duration.

7) OPTIONAL WORKBOOK
Copies of my paratheatre workbook, "Towards an Archeology of the Soul" are available to Lab participants at a discounted rate of $15. each. This book is not mandatory but optional to those wishing to read about this work and the reports shared by others who have done it. Contact me if you'd like me to bring you a book.

If you have any questions about any of the above,
please do not hesitate to call me at (510) 464-4640
